Air Knife Driven
Powerstrip Systems
The ‘Powerstrip’ family
of drying systems are Secomak’s range of blower driven
air knife drying systems. Available with a wide range of
drying combinations the ‘Powerstrips’ are the
workhorses of the Secomak range offering reliable cost effective
performance. The ‘Powerstrip V’ designed for
bottle/container drying on slow speed lines of up to 600cpm.
The unit is manufactured throughout in stainless steel with
an optional clear cover. Powered by Secomak’s range
of high performance Blowers the‘ Powerstrip V’ is fitted with Secomak’s standard high performance
Air Knives. Secomack’s ‘Powerstrip’ is designed to dry bottles
and containers on high speed production lines. Powered by Secomak’s high
performance Turbo Blowers the ‘Powerstrip’ will dry containers at
speeds in excess of 1000cpm. One of
the most popular application of powerstrip systems are in
high speed bottling and canning lines. These systems allow
beverage producers to meet all the latest drying standards,
at today's high production speeds.
Example
: Pouch dryer
The
pouch dryer machine will dry pouches of any shape.
The area that is hardest to dry is normally the
gussett.
Our system holds the pouch upright, suspended
from an over head conveyor, and
the gusset
is passed directly over a bank of air knives. In this way, even the
areas within the fold are dried to the maximum effect. The Pouch
Dryer is a very
compact solution, the overall length being approximately 1.5 meters.

: Guidance Rail Systems
A unique
four-wire container guidance system allows the Air
Knives to be positioned as close as possible to the
product. This results in more efficient drying compared
to more usual fixed guide rails, which can disrupt
the air flow leaving the product wet in some areas.
Example
: Can dryers
This feature
is designed specifically for can drying. The Can Top
Dryer removes all moisture from tops of cans in order
to eliminate corrosion and cracking which can occur
if moisture is left on that particular area.

market leader for compressed air solutions
since 1902 Secomak
are now able
to cater our customers with a wider range of solutions
to suit even the most demanding applications.
Hybrid machines
that combine the best of both technologies (air knife systems
and compressed air systems) is a prime example.Beck's extensive
range of products supply compressed air de-watering equipment
to the canning & bottling industries as well as a range
of compressed air components; Ringjets, Clusterjets, Air-strips,
Air Misers etc. The range compliments the Secomak product
range and we are now able to meet virtually any drying
specification.

Secomak
have more than 80 years experience catering for
all industries worldwide and therefore have a wealth
of experience in evaluating and solving industrial
drying requirements.Being in the unique position to offer air knife or compressed
air solutions, our experience has shown that for the particular requirement of
drying the area
under the crown caps of bottles, the Mistral de-watering system can easily exceed
the demanding targets required by the customer. This level of dryness will be
achieved
by using micro-jet nozzles which have the ability to focus on the convolutions
of the crown cap. The ‘Airminder’ sensing and control device, with
the ability to stop air consumption when a bottle is not present, keeps the compressed
air consumption to a minimal level. Water removed from the bottles in mist form
is collected and extracted from the drying unit and can be transferred to a drain
or returned for re-cycling if required.
The Mistral
The ‘Mistral’, Beck’s
baby compressed air dryer, can be used to dry under
crowns, jar screw threads and as a spot dryer.
The ‘ Mistral’ is remarkably small
(600mm x 400mm) yet incredibly powerful capable
of drying up to 1,300bpm. Easy to install and cost
effective to run, the ‘Mistral’ is
the ideal solution to the problems of rusting crown
corks. Introducing the ‘Mistral V’,
the latest ‘Mistral, development from Secomak.
The ‘Mistral V’ benefits from the same
engineering qualities as the ‘Mistral’ but
has been designed for slower speed lines.
The Zephyr
The 'Zephyr’ developed from the ‘Mistral’, is designed for
whole container drying at high speeds; it is ideal for use where space is at
a premium or where Blowers cannot be used. The ‘Zephyr’ offers
a competitive alternative to blower driven systems. For Bulk water removal
we have
developed the technology used in the Mistral and the Zephyr to produce a
compact unit which not only removes water but contains it and can then recycle
it.
Air
Knife and Compressed Air Combination Systems
Secomak’s
newest design is the ‘Combination’ dryer,
utilising both compressed air and blower generated
air; the combination unit is ideal for bottling
lines where under crown drying needs to be incorporated
with whole bottle drying at high speeds. For information
