DRYING COPPER TUBES USING A CIRCULAR AIR KNIFE

After being formed, cutting fluid has to be removed and the tube dried to prevent staining.
Tubes travel at 50 metres per minute and vary in size between 25 and 50 mm diameter.

A circular air knife placed at the exit of the forming tool strips the cutting fluid from the surface to produce a dry tube.
The cutting oil is collected and returned to the tank.
