DRYING AND CLEANING STEEL GIRDERS

Condor Structures

Condor structures manufacture steel girders for use in construction industry. The raw material is stored outside in a yard and transferred onto a conveyor for processing and surface coating when required. During storage, the girders can get wet, covered in leaves and other deposits and these need to be removed before entering the factory. Hand cleaning had been the only option.

A hot air knife placed each side of the conveyor removes surface moisture and surface deposits as it travels along the conveyor into the factory. Heat is used in this application to assist with the removal of ice and snow in winter.
